Why card payment is switched off
Customer payments must land in The Donut Run's own merchant account — never in ours. If donut money flowed into an AIrecommend or Skyview account we would be holding funds we do not own, and every refund, chargeback and tax record would sit against the wrong entity. So the card path stays disabled until the shop's own Stripe or POS account is connected. "Pay at pickup" needs none of that and works today — the bot takes the full order and the counter collects.
How the first-visit offer works
A first-party marker in the visitor's own browser — not their IP address. IP is unreliable: phones rotate carrier IPs constantly, an office or apartment building shares one address, and a VPN hides it entirely. Using IP would hand the offer to regulars and deny it to genuine new customers. Redemption still gets confirmed at the counter so it can't be farmed by clearing a browser.
